The lawn and the moon

The grass may be greener on the other side,  but you still have to mow it.

You can probably guess what I did today. Mow the lawn. Now mowing one’s lawn wouldn’t normally be a problem. But most of my lawn has very short, dry grass with the occasional blade sticking up. Hence if I don’t mow the WHOLE lawn systematically, I’m likely to miss a few aforementioned blades. And it wouldn’t look very nice. Trust me; I’ve tried.

The bright side: there was whole patch of clover that was very long and looked equally messy. Once mowed it looked wonderful and manicured. Made the whole job worth it.

On another note, today marks the 40-year anniversary of man’s landing on the moon. God has given mankind the intelligence and brains to do things like that, and it’s wonderful when people use that knowledge to glorify God, and to benefit fellow man. It will be most interesting to see how future space exploration will be of benefit to the human race.

And even though God  is  so great and has CREATED the moon and stars that man has discovered, He has chosen to love us and show Himself to us though His Son:

3 When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
The moon and the stars, which You have ordained,
4 What is man that You are mindful of him,
And the son of man that You visit him? -Psalm 8:3-4

God is truly infinite and awesome, and yet so loving and merciful. Meditate on that for a while.
