Gospel – is it really “good news”?

Jesus came to earth, died to bear the sins of those who believe in Him, and rose again on the 3rd day.

To Christians, to those God has called to be His children in Jesus, to the perishing who are enlightened by the Holy Spirit to receive Christ, it most definitely is  “good news”.

But as Martin Luther once said, the gospel is not good news to those who reject it. The gospel exposes their sinful lifestyle and wicked behaviour, and instead of turning to God for forgiveness, they reject and shun the truth.

Make sure that your response  to the gospel is  correct; trust in Christ alone for forgiveness, acknowledge Jesus’ lordship over your life, and let your lifestyle be shaped and changed accordingly. It’s very important, that last bit. And hey, it’s not easy, but “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me” :)

This is all for tonight. God bless, peeps!
